Abies balsamea (Balsam Fir)

Abies balsamea (Balsam Fir) is a North American fir, native to most of eastern and central Canada and the northeastern United States. Abies balsamea 'Hudsonia' is a hardy, slow-growing, dwarf evergreen conifer, forming a rounded, flattened mound of dark green needles that release a balsam scent when crushed. It's ideal for rockeries, patio pots, and small gardens, preferring moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil in a location with full sun to partial shade.
