Camellia japonica 'Black Lace'

Camellia japonica 'Black Lace' is a compact, evergreen shrub with with glossy green leaves which are darker than most, hence the name. It has a fairly upright habit and produces red flowers during winter. These are displayed magnificently against the dark foliage. Prefers neutral to acid, loamy, well drained but moist soils, not chalk. Flowers can scorch if exposed to early morning sun especially when frosty. H 5m x W 3m.
