Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Blue Mountain' (Port Orford Cedar)

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, known as Port Orford Cedar or Lawson's Cypress, is a species of conifer in the family Cupressaceae. It is native to Oregon and northwestern California, and grows from sea level up to 1,500m in the valleys of the Klamath Mountains, often along streams.

'Blue Mountain' is a slow-growing; pyramidal conifer prized for its striking steel-grey foliage; which becomes especially vivid through autumn and winter when colour in the garden is scarce. Its architectural form makes it an outstanding feature plant; adding year-round structure; contrast; and cool-toned colour to borders; rock gardens; and mixed plantings. H 3-5m x W 1.5-2.5m
