Hibiscus cooperi (Checkered Hibiscus)

Hibiscus cooperi is native to Vanuatu. It was first formally described in 1863. It is one of the parents of the widely cultivated, pre-historic hybrid Hibiscus × rosa-sinensis, the other being Hibiscus kaute (two species whose natural ranges are separated by more than 4,000 km of Pacific Ocean). H 1.5m x W 1.5m.
