Macadamia 'Nelmak 2'

The 6-8m tall tree has perfumed pink flowers. Nuts hang in clusters (racemes). Kernel sits inside a woody round shell. Average sized nuts. This variety is from South Africa and is a strong and prolific grower. This tree is a good producer with small nuts with delicious creamy texture. Pollination is by honey bees. Weather will affect pollination if too windy and wet during flowering resulting in a low nut set. The tree takes 4-5 years to first fruit and 7-8 months for the nuts to mature.
