Metrosideros umbellata 'Yellow' (Southern Rātā)

An erect, multi-branched evergreen tree with lighter green-yellow foliage. New growth appears bright yellow with a pink border. It is a beautiful sight year-round, especially when in bloom, with red flowers. Extremely hardy to coastal conditions, it should be protected from heavy frosts. A perfect landscaping plant, happy tolerant of strong winds and salt-laden air. Plant in full sun in average, well worked soil with good drainage. Protect from frost until established. H W.
