Podocarpus totara 'Matapouri Blue' (Blue Tōtara)

Podocarpus totara commonly known as the Tōtara, is a species of podocarp tree endemic to New Zealand. It grows throughout the North Island, South Island and rarely on Stewart Island / Rakiura in lowland, montane and lower subalpine forest at elevations of up to 600m. An evergreen tree with an upright pyramidal habit. H 30m x W 8m.

Podocarpus ‘Matapouri Blue’ or Blue Tōtarais a very attractive form of Tōtara with an upright pyramidal habit. Good as a garden specimen or as a dense trimmed hedge. Tight blue foliage provides a striking contrast in the garden. Very hardy. H 6m x W 4m.
