Protea magnifica 'Fiery Sunset' (Queen Protea)

Protea magnifica, commonly known as the Queen Protea, is a shrub, which belongs to the family Proteaceae, and which is native to South Africa. The species is also called Queen Sugarbush, Bearded Sugarbush or Woolly Beard.

This selection has large deep red flowers edged with black on the top of the bracts. Free flowering over a long period from late summer to spring, although the main flowering when younger will be late winter. In spring cut back to shape and to encourage good flowering next year.Likes full sun and free draining soils. H 1.5m x W 1.5m.
