The parents of the Protea 'Possum Magic' are Protea magnifica and Protea longifolia. This Australian-bred hybrid was accidentally created at the Proteaflora nursery and combines traits from its two South African parent species to create a dense, hardy shrub that is well-suited to Australian conditions. This resulting hybrid is known for its large, showy flowers that bloom from winter to spring and is popular for use in gardens and as a cut flower. The plant forms a dense shrub, making it an excellent display or screen plant. Fits in well with a low maintenance, low water use garden. Spectacular spring flowers, fresh or dried. Moderately frost tolerant. H 2mΒ x W 1.5m.
