Rosa rugosa 'Roseraie de l'Hay' (Beach Rose)

Rosa rugosa is a species of rose native to eastern Asia, in northeastern China, Japan, Korea and southeastern Siberia, where it grows on beach coasts, often on sand dunes. The large, deep pink, double flowers are very fragrant.

Rosa rugosa 'Roseraie de l'Hay' is a lovely old rose and a great addition to mixed plantings and rose gardens, just best situated towards away from the front of the border as it has plenty of thorns. Looks great in cottage gardens with annuals and perennials.

Clusters of large, full, rich, crimson-purple blooms with strong fragrance. Reliable shrub with a dense, spreading habit and 2-3m tall.
