'Veilchenblau' is an old fashioned rambling rose bred in the early part of last century in Germany, but has stood the test of time and is still well worth growing today. Other marketing names include 'Bleu-Violet', 'Blue Rambler', 'Blue Rosalie', 'Violet BlueIt'. Does require a bit of room in the garden, getting to a height of 4-5m wide and to about 2.5m high, thus it is suited for the larger garden. The flowers have a sweet musky fragrance and the flower colour changes over 3-5 days.
