Cavendishia acuminata

Woody-based shrubby perennial from the tropical mountainous areas of South America, where it usually grows as an epiphyte. Will eventually form a bushy shrub to around 1m by 1m, with glossy green leaves and the new foliage has gorgeous autumn hues. Clusters of tubular-bottle shaped waxy red flowers with white tips appear for much of the year. Does best out of the glare of hot summer sun, so part shade is best.
