Mandarin 'Kara' is a cross between a 'King Tangor' and an 'Owari Satsuma'. The fruit peels fairly well and has a flesh that is tender, juicy, rich and distinctive. At maturity, deep orange coloured skin with deep orange flesh, tender and juicy. Outstanding rich flavour. Fruits very late in the season. Moderately vigorous, spreading, round topped tree. Thornless. Select a warm sunny sheltered area in your garden, taking care not to plant too deep. Water freely and apply a citrus fertiliser annually.
