Corokia x virgata plants are versatile and varied. Taken from the progeny of natural hybrids between Corokia buddleioides and C. cotoneaster; Corokia x virgata clones withstand clipping very well and make effective hedges, screens and shelters.ย This plant is commonly known as the Wire-netting Bush, Korokio, or Korokia-tarango. The word 'koriko' comes from the Mฤori language.
Corokia x virgata 'Frosted Chocolate' is a hardy shrub with fine elongated oval leaves that are green with silver underside changing to bronze in winter. In early summer the plant produces small yellow flowers followed by small red berries. With fast growth rate, can grow up to 2m in height in about 10 years.
