Dodonaea viscosa (Green Ake Ake)

Green Ake Ake or the broadleaf hopbush, is a species of flowering plant that has a cosmopolitan distribution in tropical, subtropical and warm temperate regions of Africa, the Americas, southern Asia and Australasia. Dodonaea belons to the Sapindaceae, the soapberry family. 

The plant is an attractive, fast-growing small tree with green foliage and ornamental papery flower clusters in summer. Tolerates salty winds and dry conditions. Makes a great trimmed hedge and suitable for shelter belts. Prefers well-drained soils away from heavy frosts when young. Evergreen.
