'Brunswick' is a large, deciduous shrub with bold, very deeply-lobed leaves and large, purple-flushed, green, pear-shaped fruit. The fruits are sweet with good-flavoured amber flesh. Usually one crop of fruit per year, but sometimes two in a hot summer or under protection. Light first crop in summer with the second main crop in autumn. Cold hardy and reliable. Mature height 2.5-5m tall and 2.5-4m wide, which will be between 10-20 years. Requires a moist, but well-drained soil. Best grown in a sheltered area.
