Lychee is a monotypic taxon and the sole member in the genus Litchi in the soapberry family, Sapindaceae. It is a tropical tree native to China, India, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.Β
This is a mid to late season fruiting variety, producing large dark red sized fruit on medium to large tree with sprawling branches. Skin is wrinkly & textured. The flesh is very sweet and of excellent flavour.
The Erdon Lee Lychee is truly a showstopper. Often known as the Giant Fruit Lychee or the Giant Lychee, the delicious Erdon Lee fruit averages between 50-60g in weight but can top 100g. The fruit is sweet, juicy and fragrant and will make a unique and special addition to your collection of fruit trees.
