Malus domestica 'Monty's Surprise' MM106 (Apple)

Famous NZ apple with crisp fresh good for both eating and cooking. Has exceptionally high levels of health-promoting nutrients. On M116 freestanding rootstock, for heavy soils.

This versatile apple is a hardy variety, originating from a very old tree in the Manawatu region, this apple ripens late in the season. The skin has a shiny red stripe over a light green background. This disease resistant tree produces very large fruit that is high in health-boosting antioxidants (research done by Mark Christensen from NZ Tree Crops Association).

MM106: A semi-dwarfing rootstock, producing a tree with moderate vigor and good fruit production.
