Fast growing for instant results, to 5m unclipped. Compact tightly growing pale green foliage that emerges with a reddish bronze tinge. Excellent for hedging and screening. Psyllid resistant (hence Resilience), so no bumpy leaves. White flowers and bright pink edible fruit.

Compared to Syzygium australe, Syzygium australe 'Resilience' is more resistant to psyllids, grows faster, has a straighter central leader, and a stronger root system. Its glossy-green foliage is preceded by striking red new growth. In the spring, Syzygium australe 'Resilience' produces white flowers, which are then followed by small, edible, pink or dark-red fruit in autumn and winter. Syzygium australe 'Resilience' is ideal for use as a hedge, screen, or for topiary, and is able to tolerate coastal and drought conditions once established. Syzygium australe is evergreen and native to the states of New South Wales.

PLANTING : Tolerates most positions and conditions but would benefit with mulching and fertilising at the time of planting in a well drained soil.  Ideal in full sun.

CARE : Mulch and keep watered until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Tip prune while young to encourage dense foliage growth, prune twice yearly or as required once fully established.

MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH: H 3-7m x W 2-3m but normally clipped to preferred height.
