Medinilla multiflora (Malaysian Grapes)

Medinilla multiflora (syn. M. myriantha) is a species of semi-epiphytic plant endemic to the Philippines. These plants grow up to 4m tall and produce pink flowers which develop into magenta or reddish fruits. It flowers year-round. The plant has large, leathery, glossy green foliage with large, cascading racemes of pink flowers that gradually become a magenta colour before turning deep purple as they mature. This evergreen shrub prefers a shaded position and free from frosts. They make excellent indoor plants.
