Washingtonia robusta (Mexican Fan Palm)

Washingtonia robusta (Mexican Fan Palm, Mexican Washingtonia, or Skyduster) is a palm tree native to the Baja California peninsula and a small part of Sonora in northwestern Mexico. Despite its limited native distribution, W. robusta is one of the most widely cultivated subtropical palms in the world.

The fronds are bright green, and almost circular in shape, borne on a tapered trunk. When the old fronds away, the grey trunk is revealed with close leaf scar rings. Suitable for coastal planting. Hardy, and grows to over 8m tall.
